Terms of Service
Last updated: October 17, 2026 (revised)
These terms apply when you use ChordCurrent at chordcurrent.com (the “Service”). ChordCurrent is operated by an individual based in Texas, USA (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. Questions: [email protected].
1. The Service
ChordCurrent is a guitar practice tool with backing loops, scale and chord views, and fretboard exercises. Part of it is free to use without an account. Additional features (“Pro”) require a paid subscription.
2. Accounts
You need an account to subscribe. You sign in with an emailed link or a supported third-party sign-in. Keep access to your email secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms.
3. Purchases and our reseller
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Pro is offered as a monthly or annual subscription at the prices shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase, plus applicable taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from your account (“Manage billing”), from the link in your Paddle receipt, through paddle.net, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
- If a renewal payment fails, Paddle may retry it. If it can’t be collected, your subscription may be canceled and Pro access will end.
- If we change the price, we’ll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Refunds
We offer a full refund if you ask within 30 days of your first payment. Details are in our refund policy. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
6. Your use of the Service
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own practice. Please don’t: share or resell your account; copy, scrape or redistribute the Service or our original content (open-licensed sounds remain available under their own licences); try to bypass access controls or payment; or interfere with the Service’s operation. We may suspend or end access for accounts that break these terms.
7. Content and credits
The Service, its design, text and code belong to us. Some instrument sounds are third-party recordings used under their own open licences, listed on our sound credits page. Nothing in these terms limits any rights those licences give you, or rights you have by law. Music theory itself belongs to everyone.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep ChordCurrent running and improving, but it may occasionally be unavailable, and features may change. If we discontinue Pro, we’ll stop future renewals and refund any unused portion of a paid period.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t be excluded by law.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, email support: we’ll cancel any active subscription first, then delete your account data. Signing out or clearing your browser data doesn’t delete your account or cancel your subscription.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we’ll give reasonable notice on the site or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where the consumer laws of your country require otherwise.
