# Black And Green Guitars

The website uses medium-velocity clean/twang plucks with two alternate takes per note, MIDI 40–78, converted from the original 24-bit WAV recordings into MP3 VBR quality 2. Sample pitches follow the original SFZ maps; filename octave names are not interpreted as MIDI octaves. The player adds guitar chord voicings, strum offsets, and gentle clean speaker EQ. It does not reproduce the library's full SFZ GUI, feedback, effects, or other articulations.

Each guitar's sample directory contains the original license and SOURCE.json documenting the selected source recordings and processing.

# Martin HD-28 acoustic guitar

Martin HD-28 samples recorded by Jeff Learman for Kinwie's Discord SFZ GM Bank. The original instrument header explicitly releases the samples under Creative Commons CC0. This is a third-party recording library, not a Martin-sponsored product.

Fifteen original 44.1 kHz mono 16-bit WAV files, MIDI 40–83, copied without audio modifications. Each note uses its nearest recorded pitch (at most two semitones across the supported guitar range). There is one recorded take per sampled pitch. The app adds playable guitar chord voicings, staggered strum timing and a release envelope, and bypasses the electric-guitar speaker EQ. It does not emulate the original SFZ's optional filters or sustain loops. The independent chord-volume control and shared output compressor still apply.

`martin-guitar/ORIGINAL.sfz`, `LICENSE.txt` and `SOURCE.json` retain the license evidence, pinned source, file names and SHA-256 hashes. The recordings used in the approved acoustic audition match these bundled originals byte-for-byte.

# Acoustic drums

Virtuosity Drums by Versilian Studios and Karoryfer Samples, performed by Austin McMahon, recorded at Virtuosity Musical Instruments in Boston. CC0 1.0 Universal.

The app uses fourteen selected kick, snare, soft snare, closed hi-hat, pedal hi-hat, ride, and cross-stick recordings. Kick/snare use their close microphones; cymbals use overhead microphones. Each recording is peak-normalized to -3 dBFS and converted from FLAC to MP3 VBR quality 2. Two recorded variants alternate for each voice. Original recordings retain their natural decay. Rock, Blues, Jazz and Country are simple programmed grooves using this acoustic kit, not four separate sample libraries. SOURCE.json lists every source file and gain adjustment; LICENSE.txt retains the original license.

# Black and Blue basses

Black And Blue Basses by Karoryfer Samples. Black is a finger-played hollowbody five-string bass; Blue is a pick-played solidbody five-string bass.

Selected center-map regular plucks (Black mf, Blue f), two takes per pitch. Electric bass SFZ maps use written pitches one octave above the recordings: MIDI sample references are corrected down twelve semitones to their sounding pitches. Period measurements of the A2-mapped recordings confirmed an A1 fundamental near 55 Hz. Included sounding pitches span MIDI 28–46. Converted to MP3 VBR quality 2 with original recording levels, maximum four-second natural tails, and a 100 ms fade at the truncation point. Playback adds a short note-release envelope and a 30 Hz rumble filter. No synth doubling, distortion, library GUI, or unison effects are used.

# Upright bass

Meatbass by Karoryfer Samples: recordings of a 1958 Otto Rubner acoustic double bass.

Selected pizzicato (plucked) velocity layer 3, two takes per sampled pitch, MIDI 27–48 at minor-third spacing. Sounding references follow the original SFZ maps; intervening notes shift at most one semitone. MP3 conversion, tail limits, and playback processing match the electric basses. Each bass directory retains its original LICENSE.txt and SOURCE.json with all source files and pitch mappings. Credits do not imply endorsement.

# FreePats jazz guitar

FSBS Electric Guitar Clean #2 (Jazz), small bridge bank, version 2026-08-07. Sampled Fender guitar processed through an amplifier/effects rack by FreePats.

Thirteen original FLAC recordings decoded to canonical 16-bit PCM WAV without normalization, trimming or additional EQ. SFZ sustain loops apply to seven lower samples; upper notes retain natural decay. Existing guitar voicings, strums and playback envelopes apply. Loads only when selected.
